Paul Jewell says David Stockdale will be staying at Ipswich as the Championship club have not yet heard anything to suggest otherwise from Fulham.

The 25 year-old goalkeeper, who was outstanding in Ipswich’s goalless draw at Middlesbrough on Saturday, has a 24 hour recall clause in his loan deal, which could be triggered at any time. There has been some speculation that Fulham could invoke it after Mark Schwarzer suffered head and back injuries during the 0-0 draw at West Brom at the weekend, but Jewell has yet to field a phone call from Fulham.

We were made aware that Mark (Schwarzer) hurt his back but, touch wood, we haven’t heard anything from Fulham. We are completely at their mercy, they hold a 24-hour recall clause and that is constantly a thought in our minds.

I wouldn’t say we have a replacement lined up because that is very difficult, but we have targets and I think it’s really important we are proactive in the eventuality anything happens.

Stockdale is expected to be in goal as Town travel to West Ham tomorrow night.
