Fulham have signed Swedish teenager Muamer Tankovic from IFK Norkopping on a three-year contract.

Tankovic, 16, had attracted attention from a number of European clubs, including Chelsea and Juventus, since joining Norkopping’s academy. The striker had trials across the continent this summer, scoring five goals in one game for Hamburg’s youth side against Union Berlin. He had been rumoured to be moving to Chelsea or Manchester United back in January.

Tankovic has signed a three-year contract with Fulham and will begin training with the club’s development set-up. He told Aftonbladet that it ‘feels great’ to join the Whites:

They presented the best approach. Fulham felt best. They think very highly of me and see me as a future Premier League player. But of course  I will start in the development squad – you have to work your way up.
