David Stockdale tasted defeat for the first time during his loan spell with Ipswich after a late Matty Fryatt strike secured Hull’s first win of the new season.

The on-loan Fulham goalkeeper pulled off fine saves to deny Fryatt and former West Brom midfielder Robert Koren but was left helpless when the home defence stood off an advancing Fryatt with fourteen minutes to go. Former Fulham full-back Liam Rosenior played the full ninety minutes for Nigel Pearson’s side.

Ipswich’s next game is against newly-promoted Southampton, who have won both their games back in the Championship, at Portman Road on Tuesday evening.
