After failing to finalise a deal with Blackburn Rovers Argentinian Mariano Pavone is now apparently being targeted by Fulham, who face competition from Liverpool and Swansea for his signature. The forward bought himself out of his contract with Real Betis earlier this summer having spend last season on loan as part of the infamous River Plate relegation team, missing a penalty in the all important second leg. He’s fairly big and you can imagine him being a back up to Zamora but he’s not particuarly talented. At 29, if there are better targets out there we should concentrate on them but Pavone being a free agent makes a deal fairly attractive.
