Rafik Halliche looks set to be sent out on loan as Martin Jol wants the defender to prove his fitness.

The Algerian centre back was sidelined towards the end of last season with a thigh injury and looks unlikely to regain a first-team place at Fulham with Aaron Hughes, Brede Hangeland and Philippe Senderos as competition. Two of the Premier League’s newcomers, QPR and Swansea, are interested in taking Halliche on a season-long loan.

The 24 year-old, who signed from Nacional for £1.3m last summer, has made just two substitutes appearances for the club. His debut game in the 6-2 defeat of Peterborough in the FA Cup and he replaced Aaron Hughes in the win over Stoke City in mid-January.
