Jonathan Greening, signed yesterday for Nottingham Forest, has given his reasons for leaving:

“I was looking to leave Fulham as I had not been playing as often as I would have liked. It was massively frustrating for me last season. I only started six games but I was on the bench every other week. It was disheartening to be training every week only to end up on the bench.”

It demonstrates perhaps the delicate balance Jol will have to play with our strength in depth upfront. With Duff, Dembele, Zamora, Dempsey, Johnson, Davies and Riise all vying for attacking positions, all with bigger egos and all more talented than Greening he has a job on to keep them all happy. And that’s before we mention the Freis and Dalla Valles at the club.
