Here’s another Fulham-Tottenham transfer link.
According to reports in the Dutch press, Martin Jol is investigating whether he can be reunited with Jermain Defoe. The England striker was not a regular in the Tottenham team towards the end of last season and, with Harry Redknapp keen to add to his attacking options this summer, Defoe’s worried that a lack of first-team football will cost him a place in Fabio Capello’s plans in the run-up to the Euro 2012 finals.
Defoe has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs this summer. Newcastle and Sunderland are known to be interested in the 28 year-old, but Defoe is reportedly not keen on relocating to the north east. Today’s People reckons that should Defoe not be picked in Spurs’ early-season line-ups that he will ask to go out on loan. The Dutch website Soccer News says that Defoe’s potential suitors would have to pay around £14.8m to secure a permanent transfer. Would Mohamed Al Fayed sanction such a significant financial outlay?
I definitely think we should be willing to pay between 12-13m for Defoe but not 14.8m, that’s a bit of an over-valuation. Considering he wants to remain in London, we’d give him first team football and that we need a top quality striker (as I believe he can be when on form). I think Al Fayed should accept that we need his investment on this, it could mean the difference between finishing mid table and having another crack at Europe next season.
Why would Defoe go to Fulham?????
YOU CAN HAVE ANDY JOHNSON BUT NOT BOBBY ZAMORA THAT WOULD BE A GOOD PARTNERSHIP STILL ZAMORA & DEFOE AT THE COTTAGE NEXT SEASON.
SPURS CAN FUCK OFF IF THEY THINK THEY GOING TO GET ZAMORA
