Reports from Merseyside are linking Fulham with a move for Liverpool midfielder Christian Poulsen.

The Danish international skipper has struggled to make an impression at Anfield since being signed by former Fulham manager Roy Hodgson last summer. Poulsen made just 21 appearances for the club last season and Kenny Dalglish is keen to offload the 31 year-old. His days with Liverpool appear to be numbered after Dalglish signed the likes of Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson to strengthen his midfield options, but a transfer fee would remain a major sticking point.

Fulham have reportedly tabled a £1.5m bid for the former Juventus midfielder, but whether Liverpool would accept making such a significant loss on a player they paid £5m for last year remains to be seen. The credibility of these reports also has to be called into question, given that Martin Jol has already signed a midfielder this summer, in the form of Czech youngster Marcel Gecov.
