Sky Sports are reporting that Fulham are in interested in signing Roma full-back Jon Arne Riise.

They link a move for the former Liverpool defender – and brother of Fulham’s Norwegian midfielder Bjorn Helge Riise – to the ‘expected’ departure of Mexican left back Carlos Salcido, although the club did turn down a bid from Monterrey in May.

Fulham have been linked with Riise before, primarily during Roy Hodgson’s tenure at the club. Italian sources suggest Jol is keen on signing the 30-year-old, who has one year remaining on his current contract with Roma. The Italian club have already made a move for Jose Angel, of Sporting Gijon, and are reportedly open to offers for Riise.
