After Jol all but confirmed the signing Marcel Gecov has been officially announced as a Fulham player. The 23 year old signed a two year deal with the option of a third and will be expected to fill the gap in the squad left by the departures of midfielders Kagisho Dikagcoi and Jonathan Greening earlier this summer. On the signing and the potential for more additions Jol said:
“He’s a very talented player who got two assists against England. He was very confident then because he had a very good game – he knows he can play against English teams.
“He’s still relatively young at 23, he’s got a good engine and he’s a very good athlete. He’s been on Fulham’s radar for at least a year and the scouting reports on him have been very good.
“I’m happy with the business we’ve done so far this summer but we’ve released about six or seven players, so we need a couple more players to make a good, strong squad.”
