Fulham midfielder Zoltan Gera have confirmed he wants to leave England when his Craven Cottage deal expires in the summer.

The Hungary international has spent almost seven years in the country after joining West Brom from Ferencvaros in 2004.

Gera is currently well down manager Mark Hughes’ pecking order and he has now set his eyes on a move to another big European nation.

The 31-year-old believes that he is in great shape and feels his best years are still ahead of him.

“I’m looking forward to the end of the season so that I can sign for another club,” he told Hetek.

“I’m 31 years old, but I don’t feel like I’m 31. Plus I think that my best years are yet to come. I’ve never in such good shape as I am now.

“I could always join a better team and I hope I can make another step forward again.

“I’d like to move to another country. I’d like to play football in Spain, Italy or in Germany. I have the desire to have a new challenge.”
