Fulham have signed 16-year-old Luton Town striker Cauley Woodrow.
Woodrow, an England Under-17 international, scored six goals for Luton’s Under-18s in an FA Youth Cup tie while still only 15.
The first non-league player since 1974 to win a full England age-group cap, he made his first-team debut in December.
The Blue Square Bet Premier side have agreed a six-figure sum that could eventually exceed the record received by a non-league club.
Youth development officer Gregg Broughton told the Hatters’ website: “While we are disappointed to lose a player of Cauley’s calibre, the move will benefit him, the club and all the young players at the centre of excellence.
“He came to us three years ago and during that time has been exceptional in everything he has done on and off the pitch.
“It means we now have three players from this age group plying their trade with Premier League clubs.”
Managing director Gary Sweet added: “It was inevitable, during this period, that we would find it difficult to keep hold of a player who is a full England [youth] international.
