Neil Etheridge has been recalled from his loan spell at Charlton Athletic by parent club Fulham.

The goalkeeper spent less than a week with the Addicks and was an unused substitute in their last two matches.

His loan deal was due to run until April 5 but the 21-year-old will now head back to Craven Cottage to provide cover for Mark Hughes’ injury-hit side.

Etheridge has played 18 times for the Philippines and earned his first senior cap against Brunei in the AFC Challenge Cup.

The former England Under-18 shot-stopper started out at Chelsea’s academy before moving to the Cottagers.

He is yet to make his Premier League debut and remains behind Mark Schwarzer and David Stockdale in the pecking order.
