Fulham manager Chris Coleman laughed off the half-time spat between Moritz Volz and Zat Knight – by claiming the full-back wouldn’t fight because he’s German!
The two Fulham defenders clashed as they blamed each other for Arsenal’s two first-half goals, with Volz’s attempted punch countered by a similar shot from the England international centre-half. Calm was restored as Arsenal skipper Thierry Henry leapt between the two players.
Coleman said: “Zat and Moritz were upset with each other and the situation but I didn’t have to tell them to sort it out. They came off at half-time, shook hands, and it was done and dusted.
“Volzy hasn’t got it in him to throw a punch. He’s German – come on!”
