Fulham defender Carlos Salcido has threatened to quit the club and return to Mexico in the summer.

The 30-year-old left-back, signed from PSV Eindhoven last year, is unhappy at starting just 11 Premier League games and eager to rejoin his family after spending five years in Europe.

Salcido, who is wanted by his first club Chivas, said: ‘My current situation is a bit difficult and I’m thinking about going home for a number of reasons.

‘I am at a stage of my career where I have nothing left to prove. My family have supported me throughout the time I have been playing abroad, but now it is time for me to support them.’
