Fulham midfielder Zoltan Gera could leave Fulham in the next few days, according to his agent.

The Hungarian admitted last week that he would be willing to leave Craven Cottage this month if the club accepts a bid for him. Mark Hughes has said publicly that he wants to keep Gera in his squad, but the player’s agent – Vladan Filipovic – is keen to conclude a move away within the next 72 hours.

Greek giants Panathinaikos are the favourites to land the former West Brom midfielder, who was a star of Fulham’s run to the Europa League final last summer.

Filipovic told Nemzeti Sport: “I talk with Zolly every day, who is frustrated, because he plays less. I hope his future will be sorted in a few days, and he changes club. I negotiated about him with Fulham’s directors, because there are clubs which would pay for him.”

Filipovic also poured cold water on Hughes’ hope that an option to extend Gera’s contract could be triggered by further first-team appearances.

The agent added: “I don’t think the option in his contract will trigger. If the club wants to get money for him they need to sell him in January,”
