Fulham midfielder Zoltan Gera wants to cement a place in Mark Hughes’s first-team and earn an extended stay at Fulham.

Gera has started just four league games under his new boss, but played 90 minutes in last weekend’s win against Wigan.

However, the Hungarian is out of contract in the summer, and the club are yet to take up the option of keeping him in SW6 for an additional year.

Gera has seen team-mates Bobby Zamora, Dickson Etuhu, Simon Davies and Chris Baird handed new deals, and he’s desperate to join them in committing his future to Craven Cottage.

He said: “I haven’t spoken to the club yet. We will see what happens but I’m happy at Fulham.”
