Fulham midfielder Zoltan Gera remains confident of ending a Premier League goal drought stretching back more than 10 months after missing another two great chances for Fulham against Aston Villa.

Gera is renowned as a goalscoring midfielder, but while he has netted plenty in cup competitions and for his country in the past year, the Hungary international has not found the net in the league since the end of December.

That goal came at Chelsea, the scene of Fulham’s next game when they travel to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday for the west London derby.

Gera, who missed a good volleyed chance against Villa on Saturday before fluffing his lines one-on-one with Brad Friedel, told his club’s official website: “On the first, when I tried to hit the volley, I focused on the target but didn’t hit it, and I rushed on the second chance.

“It was very frustrating because I should have scored in the last two games as well. But hopefully the goals will come.

“The positive thing is that I am getting chances, so hopefully it will just be a matter of time because I`m very hungry to score more goals.”
