Fulham full back Stephen Kelly has backed Moussa Dembele to step up in the absence of Bobby Zamora.

The Fulham frontman will be sidelined for at least four months after sustaining a broken leg in Saturday’s win against Wolves.

But Belgian forward Dembele immediately stepped up to the plate with a second half brace that beat Mick McCarthy’s men. The Republic of Ireland international is comfortable that Fulham’s new signing can fill Zamora’s shoes.

“We’re all gutted for Bobby. It’s a massive blow, he’s been massive for us last year and this season already. Moussa scored two great goals – he seems to be on fire. He’s a very good technical player, good on the ball and keeps it really well. I really think he’s going to be a big star for us this season.”
