The highly-regarded Wayne Brown was desperately unlucky with injuries after emerging from the Fulham academy to become one of the club’s most promising midfield prospects. He gained first-team experience on loan with Brentford, TPS and Bristol Rovers and was a favourite of Roy Hodgson. Brown made his senior debut in a FA Cup defeat by Bristol Rovers and made his Premier League bow at Manchester United in February 2009 before a bad leg injury ended his progress. He joined Rovers in August 2010 after a successful loan spell at the Memorial Ground.
