Mark Hughes has stopped Steve Sidwell’s move from Aston Villa to Fulham.
The former Reading man’s hopes of a return to London appear over, leaving the midfielder facing an uncertain future and Aston Villa once again frustrated in their attempts to move on one of their squad players.
Sidwell had been lined up to go to Fulham for about £3m had Martin Jol taken over as manager but Mark Hughes’s appointment appears to have scuppered the deal.
