Despite David Stockdale’s brilliant display yesterday, the media speculation is firmly centred around Mark Schwarzer again today. Some reports suggest that Arsene Wenger is prepared to increase his offer for the Australian goalkeeper to around £4m in an attempt to seal a move to Arsenal, but Mark Hughes insists that he’s not beyond the realm of possibility that the Australian could stay at Craven Cottage.
It’s not a foregone conclusion that Mark will leave. We’re all aware of Arsenal’s interest. It’s not a surprise because he’s an outstanding goalkeeper and they obviously feel they have an issue with their own goalkeeper.
