New Fulham manager Mark Hughes said he was happy with his new side’s second half performance against Werder Bremen this afternoon and singled out hat-trick hero Zoltan Gera for praise.

I thought we were excellent in the second-half. In the first-half we possibly showed them a little too much respect in terms of allowing them too much space in which to operate.
They’re a good side and have talented players, so if you allow talented players time and space, at times they will create things.

Zoltan had an immediate impact when he came on the pitch with some excellent finishes – in the end we were very comfortable winners.

It was a good performance in the second-half and fitness wise, we looked very strong. Lots of guys have come back in good shape and have built on the fitness levels they had last year.
