Fulham have confirmed the capture of Belgian international forward Moussa Dembele from AZ Alkmaar.

Dembele, who was the subject of a bid from Birmingham City earlier in the summer, has signed a three-year deal and is believed to have cost Fulham somewhere in the region of £5m. He can play either on the left of midfield or as a central striker and starred as AZ won the Eredivisie in 2008-09, scoring ten goals.

I am very happy to join Fulham and look forward to training with the team to prepare for the first home game of the season. It has always been a dream to play in the Premier League and I will make sure that I make the most of this opportunity.
Fulham manager Mark Hughes, who first tracked Dembele during his time as Manchester City manager, is understandably delighted to have got his man, although it is unclear whether the 23-year-old will be considered for selection against Manchester United on Sunday.
