Amidst all of the Hodgson news, I read somewhere that we have rejected a 6m bid from Birmingham (again) for Bobby Zamora. Zamora for 6m? I think with the season he has just had it must be closer to 10million. his is some contrast from last year when we were thrilled at possibly receiving 5m from Hull. Zamora has made a massive impact at Fulham and I just hope that he doesn’t follow Hodgson out the door.
Other rumours suggest that we are ready to bid 8million for Carlton Cole. I rate Cole but he is very similar to Zamora and it would be interesting to see if the 2 guys could play together. This could however mean that Fulham are looking for a replacement. But if we are looking for a replacement then why did we just reject a bid?
I think he would be a good signing and I do think that another striker is essential for our future.
And what if Marck Schwarzer leaves to Arsenal, i’ve heard he’s been linked to the gooners for £4m? Who (if he left) would ever replace such a great keeper?
I hope Marky doesn’t go but apparently we have been linked with Daivd James. I know Mark is better than James but at least he is a proven keeper.
What about Andrew Johnson … Remember him? Anyone know if he is fit? Bit of a forgotten man but cost us 10 million a couple of years ago and I think would work very well with the new, improved Zamora. Sad to see Riy go but still exciting times ahead ….
