Fulham fans never got to see too much of the ‘Bonecrusher,’ as Toni Kallio was nicknamed in honour of his tenacious tackling. The Finnish international watched most of the Great Escape from the sidelines, making his Fulham debut at left back in the 1-0 win over Arsenal in August 2008 – where he was voted man of the match. As Roy Hodgson added reinforcements to his first team squad, Kallio’s opportunities became limited and he had two stints on loan with Sheffield United before being released in July 2010. He is now manager of Finnish top flight outfit Ilves.
