Lots of excited chatter about Roy’s body language on the Match of the Day sofa tonight when he was asked the inevitable Liverpool-related question by Gary Lineker.
To me, it’s quite simple. Hodgson was what he always is: refreshingly honest. He corrected Lineker and told him he should introduce him as the Fulham manager and that he was quite happy at Craven Cottage. Commenting on speculation has just never been Roy’s style.
The PA report him as saying:
I’m Fulham manager. I’m perfectly happy at Fulham. To be honest there’s a lot of speculation but I can’t enlighten you.
Yes he is so honest that he made it clear that any offer that was forth coming would be considered, Now that is fine except the longer Liverpool take to make that offer the harder it is for Fulham to attract players when they know the Manager may be leaving. I wish Liverpool would speed things up.
Although England will need a new manager soon so Roy would do well to hold out for that. But the uncertainty does Fulham no good.
