Lets put aside Liverpools manager dilema and realise that Roy Hodgson seems to have started properly strengthening his squad. This is what I love about him. So much is about him in the media but he just carries on as usual. Reports claim that we are close to signing congointernational Dieumerci Mbokani from Standard Liege for 8million. As I was looking for info on the striker I found that we were reportedly preparing a bid of 5million for him last year. He is described as being a complete striker- Quick, strong, good in the air (he is 6’1) and has the ability to score lots of goals. He sounds useful and his scoring record looks good too; during his time at TP Mazembe, which is a Congo Football club in his homeland he had 76 appearences in 2 years and scored an incrediable 67 goals. He has continued this form right through until now with a decent 34 goals throughout his 3 years at Standard Liege.
He looks pretty useful and I’d be interested to see if this one happens as quickly as the Senderos signing, thats if it does happen of course.
