A piece in this morning’s Sunday Mirror suggests that Mohamed Al Fayed will invest the funds he’s gained by the recent sale of Harrods in improving the playing squad.

The piece asserts that Roy Hodgson, who is ‘in line for a pay rise’ after guiding Fulham to the Europa League final, will be handed a transfer budget of £25m. That seems a serious outlay – and I’d trust Roy to spend it a little more sensibly than Sanchez.
