Fernando Torres, who likes playing against Fulham, should recover from a knee complaint to face Roy Hodgson’s side on Sunday.
The Spaniard fired Liverpool into the Europa League semi-finals with a brace against Benfica last night but was taken off in the closing stages. He had ice applied to his knee again, as he did at Birmingham at the weekend, but the problem is not believed to be serious.
Rafa Benitez could be without the injured Emiliano Insua and will certainly miss Fabio Auerlio but could persist with playing Dan Agger at left back after he impressed against Benfica.
Liverpool certainly have a lot more to play for in the league than we do. Rafa maintains that he is desperate to finish fourth this season. They’ll almost certainly put out their strongest side, whilst, as you say, Hodgson will make several changes. I wonder if Spurs or Man City will lodge a complaint……
I certainly wouldn’t put it past the odious Garry Cook.
I wonder if it’s worth giving Torres a clout on his bad knee to rule him out for a month or so *innocent whistle*
