Brede Hangeland insists Fulham will play the same way they always do against Liverpool on Sunday.
With Fernando Torres in blistering form, having scored twice to send Liverpool through to the Europa League semi-finals last night, Roy Hodgson might have been tempted to draw up a special plan to shackle the Spaniard. But Hangeland says Fulham will stick to the same defensive strategy that has served them so well during the last couple of seasons.
Against any opposition, we try and keep a compact shape and a short space between our players. And that is even more important against someone like Torres because you cannot go one on one against one of the best strikers in the world.
Few people would disagree that he is a first class striker and we will have to do very well to keep him out.
Hangeland helped Fulham to a goalless draw at Anfield last season and the Whites will have to be at their very best to repeat that result, especially as you’d imagine Roy Hodgson may rotate his weary squad after their European exertions.
