Fulham captain Danny Murphy praised his side for a mature performance and claimed his team were ‘comfortable’ for large spells of their terrific victory over Wolfsburg this evening.

The Whites reached their first European semi-final with a fine 3-1 aggregate win and Murphy believes that Bobby Zamora’s early goal helped settle his side.

I thought we were quite comfortable. The early goal was nice and settled us a bit. I thought they had the odd spell but over the 90 minutes we had the better chances and should have killed them off.

We’ve played some good teams along the way and performed consistently well throughout, and the Juventus game will live long in the memory, but that was a very good, mature performance in the big scheme of things. We don’t have much experience in Europe but it looked like we did tonight.

Zamora says he didn’t really think about anything other than hitting the target when that early chance came his way.

It was that quick and early that I had nothing to think about. It was just hit the target and I managed to score.
