Danny Murphy is looking forward to returning to Anfield with Fulham tomorrow afternoon.
The Fulham skipper made 249 appearances for Liverpool in seven years with the club he supported as a boy and admits that Sunday’s game will be an emotional one for him.
It’s a wonderful place to go and play your football. I learned how to play football by watching games there when I was growing up and some of the most successful moments of my career have come at Anfield.
I’m looking forward to it, as always and I’m sure it will be as good an atmosphere as always on the Kop. It still holds a special place for me in my heart and I love going back there.
Murphy insists Fulham will face Rafa Benitez’s side in confident mood.
They have some top-class players and it will be tough because for all their woes in the Premier League, they still have a good home record.
