Alexander Madlung says Wolfsburg made some ‘stupid’ mistakes against Fulham last night to leave themselves with work to do in the second leg of their Europa League quarter final next week.
The German champions are at least able to cling to Madlung’s late header that has given them a lifeline but the centre back was annoyed by the ‘errors’ that gave Fulham a two-goal lead.
We made stupid mistakes that just shouldn’t happen to us. That is something that we must improve upon at all costs in the return leg.
It is a huge advantage when you play the second game at home, which made it all the more important that we managed to get a goal back. I think we showed Fulham that we are capable of playing good football.
