Danny Murphy says Fulham musn’t lose sight of their league position in the closing weeks of the season.
The Fulham skipper wants his side to ensure a top half finish with some good domestic displays between now and the end of the season, despite the obvious distraction of the forthcoming Europa League quarter final against Wolfsburg.
Regardless of what is going on in other competitions, we still want to kick on and maintain our top-half placing. All through the season I’ve talked about our character and strength and every member of the squad deserves credit because over the past eight months everyone has played their part.
When you look at the difference between now and last season, when we played a similar team for the majority of it, it shows how much the squad has developed. I think it has made us a stronger club.
maybe Danny should concentrate on passing the ball to a team mate?
Bit harsh Ed. He might not have been at his best recently, but he’d still be the first name on my teamsheet.
I thought Murphy was excellent during the first half at Spurs. Was a key reason for our impressive amount of possession, and the fact that we outplayed Spurs for the first 45 minutes. His distribution was excellent.
I admit that he has played better for us in the past, but I would still have him in the side. It’s good to know, however, that we have Chris Baird who seems to be learning how to play the Murphy role, and can play well in midfield alongside Etuhu, Greening and indeed Murphy
