Mark Schwarzer will draw on his fond memories of European competition as Fulham’s Europa League adventure resumes against Shakhtar Donetsk tonight.
The Australian goalkeeper was a key part of the Middlesbrough side that went on an amazing run all the way to the UEFA Cup final four years ago and he reckons Fulham have enough quality to see them through a tough draw against the last winners of the old competition.
It is very exciting to play in Europe. I have played in European competition before and got to the final with Middlesbrough. It is a fantastic competition to be involved in, it will be tough for us but who knows what can happen?
It is tough for us playing on a lot of fronts this season in different competitions, but the squad has been strengthened and the ability is there within the squad, without a doubt.
