Roy Hodgson hopes that Clint Dempsey will return to the Fulham side by the end of the season.

It had been feared that the American midfielder might be a doubt for the World Cup after damaging knee ligaments against Blackburn but recent comments from USA coach Bob Bradley suggested Dempsey could be back in action well before June. Hodgson seems to think Bradley’s optimism is justified:

His progress is good and he is working very hard to recover. The medical staff are very happy with him. It’s still a long way to go until the end of the season.
