Dickson Etuhu says he’s ‘a big boy’ and isn’t even thinking about proving a point to his former club Sunderland when Fulham travel to the Stadium of Light on Sunday.
The Nigerian midfielder spent a season under Roy Keane with the Black Cats but moved to Fulham last August after Roy Hodgson offered around £1.5m for his services. Etuhu had established himself in the Fulham midfield after a string of solid performances once Jimmy Bullard had left for Hull, but is looking to cement his first-team spot after recovering from injury and recently returning from the African Cup of Nations.
I’m past having a point to prove now. I’m a big boy and don’t think about all that. I’ll just go out there and play like it was against any other team.
We played really well and were unfortunate to lose last year. It was a very even game, we had a few chances and so did they. We’re looking forward to going there and playing in a beautiful stadium.
