Accrington Stanley assistant manager Jimmy Bell insists his side won’t be overawed by Premier League Fulham on Saturday.

The League Two side host the London club in the FA Cup fourth round this weekend after John Miles scored a late winner to settle their third round replay on Tuesday and send League One Gillingham tumbling out of the competition. It’s more than half a century since Stanley last reached this stage: they lost to Portsmouth 4-1 in January 1959.

Bell says Accrington will be ready for Fulham and will be hoping to get a result.

The lads were fantastic on Tuesday, they did everything we asked them to do and they got what they deserved. We will prepare in exactly the same way as we would for any league game and keep the lads feet on the ground.

It doesn’t matter if it’s Matlock Town or Fulham, although there is added spice with this one, the key thing for us is to try and do ourselves and the football proud and get a result.
