Mark Schwarzer says he’s been very disappointed with Fulham’s last three performances and that the Whites need an ugly victory to keep their European hopes alive.

Fulham’s dismal away run continued with a 2-0 defeat at Blackburn on Sunday, which saw Clint Dempsey and Paul Konchesky pick up injuries. Schwarzer was worried by the manner in which Fulham conceded both goals from set plays, something that would have also concerned Roy Hodgson, and felt Ryan Nelsen’s clincher was offside.

The last three games we have been very disappointed with. It’s not that we are playing bad football as I thought we played particularly well in the first-half. But we gave away a very sloppy goal and then in the second half we did not start well and gave another bad one away.

We thought that was offside and should have not been given, but that is the way it goes. In the second-half they were very competitive and we were chasing the game, that is always very difficult. We are playing good football, but are having lapses of concentration. The ability we have in the squad is very good, but it is going to be very tough to repeat the fantastic season we had last year. We need to get back to winning ways, and if that means winning ugly then that is what we will have to do.
