The People links Fulham with Romanian striker Florin Costea as a potential replacement for the injured Bobby Zamora.

A rather excitable blog gives credence to the rumour by suggesting that they have been told by the forwards coach at Costea’s current club, Universitatea Craiova, that Fulham have made a move for the 24-year-old.

I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t know too much about Costea. He seems to have adapted very quickly to top flight Romanian football after leaving his local club a couple of years ago and finished as joint top scorer in his domestic league last season with seventeen goals. His promise has been recognised at international level as Costea, who at an imposing 6ft 1in could be an intriguing replacement for our crocked target man, has won six caps for his country.
