Roy Hodgson admitted today that Fulham’s proposed deal to bring Stefano Chuka Okaka to London is still in some jeopardy.
It appeared positive yesterday with Okaka’s agent suggesting that the deal was almost done. Hodgson wants to make sure that the forward really wants to move to London – and confirmed that it would only a be a loan deal, with no chance of the Cottagers holding an option to make it permanent.
I would be disappointed should this one fall through. Fulham badly need cover up front, especially with Bobby Zamora’s injury looking worse than originally feared. You can read the rest of the story here.
Reading between the lines, my guess is that Okaka isn’t thrilled to hear that he won’t immediately be placed in the starting line-up. A bit short-sighted on his part if that’s the case — but you’ve got to think that Roy would never make promises to a player that weren’t true and this is his way of asking “do you want to be part of a team and prove yourself in practice” — because if not don’t waste our time.
This is what I hate about the transfer window. Grrrrr…just make this move happen.
Here here!! Nicely said Jason.
