Egyptian club Ittihad Alexandria have denied reports that Fulham tabled a bid for African Cup of Nations star Mohamed Nagy Gedo.

Sky Sports reported that Fulham made an offer for the 25-year-old attacking midfielder, which was rejected by Ittihad.

But the Egyptian Premier League club’s president Mohamed Moselhi said he was yet to receive any offer for the goal-scoring sensation.

“We didn’t reject any offers for Gedo,” Moselhi told Egyptian sports site Fil Goal.

“We didn’t receive any in the first place, neither from Fulham nor the rest of his suitors.”

Gedo scored his fourth goal of the competition in the 4-0 semi-final rout of Algeria, making him tournament top scorer despite only featuring as a second-half substitute.

He only made his debut on the eve of the Nations Cup in Angola, but has since scored five times in seven matches.

Sunderland and Spanish duo Osasuna and Real Sociedad have been linked with the player.
