Reports from France suggest that Fulham are involved in a three way battle for the signature of left winger Olivier Thomert.

The Whites, Blackburn Rovers and French giants Paris Saint-Germain are said to be interested in signing Thomert, who has seen little first team football this year at Rennes, and is expected to leave this month. PSG say they would be keen on a signing a left-sided midfielder, although they insist they have not made any contact with Thomert and say that any transfers will have to first be funded by players leaving the club.

Thomert has made more than 150 league appearances for Rennes, since arriving at the club in a part-exchange deal from Lens, but has been out of favour under current coach Frederic Antonetti. Roy Hodgson is short of naturally left-sided midfielders in his squad – just Damien Duff would call the left midfield position home – so it would be one of the areas Fulham might wish to strengthen over the course of the transfer window.
