This is quite interesting. Fulham are 58th in the list of the world’s top club teams, which seems quite high. Consider for a moment that we were pretty happy to be exactly a hundred places lower in May and you’ll see the progress we’ve made over the course of a season. It’s all a bit of fun of course, but the rankings might be worth keeping an eye on – especially if we manage to topple Shakhtar.
UPDATE: Since I posted this, there’s been an update of the table to include December’s result. As Mike points out, we’re now 33rd. Heady days!
Fascinating. And Twente Enschede are 14th.
Six places higher than Inter Milan.
You know it makes sense!
Blimey. I hadn’t spotted that. Steve McClaren will be positioning himself as Capello’s successor armed with that information. Mind you, Inter Milan in Europe have been notoriously poor for years. Neither the ‘special’ Portuguese character or Manchester City’s now coach could get them too far in Europe.
Am I misreading it. According to the link, Fulham are 33rd?
The table is complete rubbish. Spurs are 133 – there are teams from all sorts of mickey mouse leagues above them!
No Mike you aren’t misreading it – they’ve updated it while I was asleep! I’ve added a little bit to the post as a result.
Brillant. Better than AC Milan, Juventus & Benfica!
Oh and Geoff – I reckon it’s spot on just surprised Spurs are THAT high!
Clearly the big club in north London are paying for missing out on that European spot that ‘Arry didn’t want …
