Interesting developments afoot at Fulham’s Europa League opponents. Apparently, Shakhtar Donetsk coach Mircea Lucescu is keen on taking the vacant job of Turkey boss, despite having recently rejected overtures from Ukraine.

Fatih Terim resigned as the Turkish manager after failing to lead the national side to the World Cup. No word yet on what this would mean for Lucescu’s role at Shakhtar.

On the flip side, Shakhtar have announced the signing of another Brazil – this time the highly-rated Alex Teixeira from Vasco de Gama. Manchester United and Everton scouts were reportedly keeping a close eye on 18-year-old midfielder, who looks a bit special, but Shakhtar pipped them in a reported £8m deal.
