Roy Hodgson is eyeing a knockout meeting with Juventus in the last 32 of the Europa League.

Following Fulham’s dramatic win over Basel last night, the Whites could be drawn against a number of top sides from across the continent, as well as those teams that have dropped out of the Champions’ League, like the Old Lady. Two games against Juventus would hold a special attraction for Hodgson, who is highly respected after several spells coaching in Italy.

I wouldn’t mind playing Juventus. I am looking forward to the next round, the draw to see who we get and then we see how far we can go.

I don’t know whether I am enthusiastic (now we have qualified), I am very satisfied. I am particularly pleased for the fans.

I walked around Basle in the afternoon before the game and I was stopped by fans saying how much they were enjoying the adventure. We have done more than we set out to do. It’s been a bonus so far and now we face an even bigger bonus.
