Zoltan Gera says Fulham are ‘strong enough’ to win in Basel and progress to the next round of the Europa League.
The Hungarian midfielder scored the only goal last night as Fulham sneaked past CSKA Sofia to set up an enthralling finale in Switzerland on December 16. Gera’s confident that the strength of Roy Hodgson’s squad will give the team a real chance.
We have a squad good enough to do well enough in the Premier League and then get the result we need in Europe. We have a strong squad, we have some good players as you saw with the ones who came in today and did really well. Last season nobody expected Fulham to get into Europe but we are strong enough.
Every game is difficult, you never think you will definitely will win at home. [But] the crowd is very good and the pitch is tight so the fans are close. Maybe the other teams don’t like to play at Fulham.
