Stephen Kelly’s been a bit of a peripheral figure this season at Fulham. Most of us will most quickly recall his harsh – and farcial – sending off against Roma towards the end of that enthralling game at the Cottage. What would be better than to expunge that painful memory with a win in Basel on Wednesday?
Most of the Irish full back’s appearances for the Whites have come in Europe and he’s filled in admirably at left back on occassions too. He’s likely to start tomorrow night and has promised that Fulham will give it their best shot to get the victory they need to reach the knockout phase of the Europa League.
It’s a big game, and there’s loads to play for. We’ll go for it – there’s nothing to lose. If we win we go through, and if we don’t we’re out. We’ll throw everything at them.
We’ve had a lot of decisions go against us, but I think we’ve performed well throughout the competition. In the two Roma games, we’ve had three sendings-off and a penalty given against us.
But that’s football. We’ve got ourselves in a good position regardless of what decisions have been given against us.
