The News of the Screws weekly Fulham feature is something of a tenacious link to Alan Hutton this week.
The Scottish international has barely made an impact in the Premier League since his £8m move from Rangers a year ago and is set to be moved on by Harry Redknapp during the transfer window. Apparently, geographical reasons mean we head the queue for the Tottenham full-back with Blackburn and Everton also keen on Hutton.
Even though John Pantsil is about to go to the Africa Cup of Nations, I can’t really see Roy shopping for another right back. We’ve got adequate cover in the shape of Stephen Kelly, who has done a decent job playing on the wrong side during our European campaign, it doesn’t look as though Derby will be keeping Fredrik Stoor and Keanu Marsh-Brown’s still coming through very nicely in the reserves.
If Stoor moves on we may be in the need of a replacement. Konchesky has been carrying an injury so it may be Kelly would need to fill in there and we are short one back. Kallio being brought back from his loan sounded alarm bells.
